Robert Parker/Wine Advocate 2020 Reds - Joe Czerwinski

Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020 Hommage à Odette Bernard 95 points

Following on the success of the 2019, Beauchene's 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Hommage à Odette Bernard is another knockout. A bland of 90% old vine Grenache, with just 5% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, it offers up scents of cola, black cherries and hints of dried spices, followed by a full bodied palate that's rich, concentrated and tannic but velvety and plush, with ample upside and a long, mouthwatering finish.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020 Grande Réserve 92 points

A blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grande Réserve features attractive notions of ripe cherries, subtle garrigue shadings and dusty earth. Full-bodied and nicely concentrated, it's supple and elegant, likely destined for early drinking.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020 Vignobles de la Serrière  89 points

... Beauchene's wines often represent good values. The supple 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vignobles de la Serrière ... is a pleasant, relatively complex example of the appellation, with attractive notes of espresso, asphalt, cedar, brown sugar and plumy fruit. It's a blend of 75% Grenache, Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre, grown on a combination of sandier parcels and galets and clay.
